My Journey to Becoming
a Therapist

I’m no different from the clients I see. Like everyone else, I'm human. I've been through both wonderful and difficult experiences and have often needed support and guidance along the way.

For instance, I’ve experienced my own struggles with internalized homophobia and biphobia which meant it didn’t feel safe to come out as queer until later in life. Additionally, as someone who is also non-monogamous, I’ve noticed there’s little guidance with what a successful non-monogamous relationship looks like. Both sexuality and relationships can be particularly hard to navigate as men.

But through a lot of trial and error I found therapists that supported my values. I started doing therapy and found the guidance and support that I needed.

So today, I support others in ways that I was supported. My focus is on working with folks who are either still in the closet, can’t come out or are struggling to adjust and build their community - whether queer, non monogamous or both.

I also find particular joy in helping men and masc folx identify their more authentic selves rather than following the programming they've been taught either consciously or unconsciously.

Sessions will provide you with the space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals. In feeling safe and comfortable, you'll be able to figure things out about yourself.

It's important to me to provide a non-judgemental space where you can be yourself and stay open to any feedback and questions you may have. There isn't a "one size fits all" approach to therapy. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.

My Professional Background

Masters in Social Work

I earned my Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 2015. Prior to starting my own practice, I worked for many years in a variety of community mental health settings with those who are most underserved in our society, which gave me a very broad, collaborative and creative perspective on how to achieve change.
